a post from my berry.

So I have been trying to figure out how to post from my blackberry and I just did! Yahoo! So I am trying to figure out a few wedding details and want some in on some ideas or what you might have done :).

Transportation: all my bridesmaids and me will be getting ready at the ceremony site so I have been thinking on how will I get everyone (wedding party) from the ceremony site to the reception. What did you do if your ceremony and reception were at 2 different places? Is it worth renting a limo?

Seating Chart: Okay, so I have seen some adorable pictures of seating charts but I only need names for the immediate family tables. There are going to be like 6 round tables for immediate family and then the rest long rectangular tables for everyone else to sit where ever the would like! 🙂 So I’m trying to think of a creative way to have the immediate family tables numbered or with place cards. 🙂

Alrighty now is the time when you all hit the “comment” button and give me some ideas! 🙂 Love you all!

Hey Sam!

Personally I think a limo (or some type of large group transportation) is key when trucking the bridal party from ceremony to reception! We are using a trolley because we have 14 people in our bridal party, but I’m not sure if trolleys are available around New Ipswich. I’m not sure if you are planning on stopping somewhere to take pictures between the ceremony and reception..but if you are it is nice to have everyone travel together so no one gets lost or left behind. If you are going straight from ceremony to reception you could skip the group transportation, but just make sure everyone has rides with individual vehicles.

As far as the seating chart…we are doing escort cards instead of a seating chart. Basically each person who comes to our wedding will have an individual card that they pick up from the first table when they enter the reception. One the back of the card it has a table name or number to guide them in the right direction. In your case, I would number tables 1-6 and make sure your immediate family’s escort cards have #1-6 on the back. You could make the rest of the tables numberless and just have no number on the rest of the guests cards..or just give them all the same number for table #7 which will be the remaining tables. Another option is to have one of the waitresses guide all guests without numbers to the free seating tables. Or..just put reserved on the 6 family tables and let your family know ahead of time that that is where they should sit. If I think of any other options, I’ll be sure to let you know!
